I felt honored to photograph Donna & Jim's vow renewal this past May because these two have been together for 50 years!
That is not something that you hear of everyday, and it is truly a beautiful thing!
Donna is one crafty lady! She made her bridal sash, her shoe accessories, her flower crown, her bouquet, and ALL of the decorations!
This entire bouquet was made from PAPER! Isn't it beautiful?! and the awesome thing about it is that it will last forever. Such a neat idea :) For the ceremony at Bellevue, I was not allowed to use my flash during the actual service, and I also had to make sure that I was not too distracting. This is a hard thing to do as a photographer :) But I did it and it all went fine! I ended up hiding in the bell tower and kept popping out for a photo every once in a while, haha At one point during the service, Donna sang "Come to Me (Renewal of Vows)" to her husband, and it was the sweetest thing...
The stained glass in the church was stunning...
The joyful receiving line. Lots of hugs! :)
These two are SO cute I can't take it! :)
& on to the reception!
The food was super yummy...especially these hoagies from Capriotti's Sandwich Shop! They had one kind, called "The Bobbie" which had turkey, cranberry sauce, and stuffing in it...I have never heard of anything like that before! It was like Thanksgiving in a sub! haha This is the top of their wedding cake that they saved from fifty years ago!
JUST KIDDING! That would be kind of gross :)
But that is exactly what I thought Donna meant when she first showed the cake to me. Hahaha!
The cake is fresh, however that is their original cake topper - isn't that awesome?!
Donna & Jim, it was an honor photographing your special day. Thank you for setting a wonderful example.
