Engagement Photos at the Barn at Stoneybrooke / Atglen, PA / Alyssa & Kyle

Engagement Photos

We usually shoot weddings at the Barn at Stoneybrooke, but this April we got to photograph an engagement session there! Alyssa & Kyle are getting married at Stoneybrooke next fall and they had this great idea of getting their engagement photos done in the spring at their wedding venue. So now they will have the best of both seasons there! :) It was actually really nice to be able to take our time getting the different photo spots they wanted; everyone felt that would take the stress out of trying to do all of that on their actual wedding day when there is limited time. We had a complete overcast day for their engagement photos, (it was on the verge of raining), so maybe we will get a bright sunny day for their wedding ;) Alyssa & Kyle had only one photo request, and that was a smoke bomb photo, (which we love to do!) They wanted to use white smoke bombs, and for some reason the regular ones we use were not available anywhere...so I found large pack of mini ones to use instead. We went through SEVEN smoke bombs to get the shot we wanted! You can't always predict what smoke bombs are going to do, and it wasn't really windy during their engagement session, however they kept blowing in crazy directions!!?...which made for some HILARIOUS outtakes, hahaha!! We had SO much fun hanging out with these guys and we are excited to be a part of their wedding next year.
